Our numbers are growing and we are playing regularly in fixtures against other clubs in the area, during term time, when we are not playing matches training sessions run from 9.30 -10.30am.
Why not come down and give it a go! It doesn't matter whether your child has played before. Sessions are open to boys and girls in years 2-6.
Initially, we play tag rugby and progress on to contact rugby in a controlled way appropriate to the player/age group.
Rugby for school-age children is all about FUN and learning. Players will learn all the rugby skills starting by playing TAG RUGBY.
Quilter Kids First is the new approach to rugby at U7-U13 at clubs and schools across the county. It’s all about helping children develop and learn the game at their own pace, and making sure they have plenty of fun while playing. York RI is one of many rugby centres across the country to take the pledge to commit to a range of high-quality standards. As a club we commit to:
· Put children at the heart of everything we do and all decisions we make.
· Encourage fun on the pitch, through equal opportunity and realistic expectations of our children.
· Develop children’s confidence and character as players and as people, challenging any behaviour that conflicts with this.
· Build the skills of our adults to provide a safe, healthy, respectful & enjoyable environment for children.
· Champion rugby’s Core Values, inspiring a lifelong bond between children, adults and our sport.
